No IPS Utilization
Besides hard-wired biases, other interactions where DOS disregards the very purpose of IPS is when it does not use it for decision making, which it does to save VP utilization time and increase confidence levels. The same translates to the fact that a person does many things without knowing the reason why he is doing them.
Earlier, I have used father and son analogy to explain how IPS works (more under title Father & Son Analogy for IPS), as it is easy to understand. To explain why and when DOS does not use IPS to logically process interactions, I will use Factory Analogy once again, which is a deeper analogy than father & son analogy.
