We deal through emotions, feelings, reasoning, logic, etc. We have ideas, desires, opinions, etc. We learn, apply and update our knowledge on a regular basis. We make decisions and judgements to which our body responds. It affects our behaviour. We know that all these happen in our brain.

If these happen in the brain, what is mind?

Even when loosely defined, mind is a term comfortably used by everyone based on the idea that it enables us to make decisions. The universally accepted idea is that mind controls what we do, which most believe is through our brain. "Mind is what the brain does", goes the aphorism.

Our minds work using the motivation of emotions, because of which, it is difficult to do "out-of-the-box" thinking about it in order to study it, as the instinctive powers of emotions, which besides pain, are designed to offer pleasure, often force us back into our usual self. An example for the same is when we watch an interesting movie, we get engrossed in it, without which we cannot enjoy it.

But there is an alternate way to watch a movie, which is from the point of view of those involved in making it, although not as entertaining.

My personal belief is that it makes sense to sacrifice a part of entertainment in exchange of analysing what it is that entertains me, as it may help me get more out of it. I also believe that being slave to emotions is as unintelligent as the horse that starts running on being kicked. Based on the same, my inquisitive "mind" has enabled me to see life from the point of view of nature, which happens to be producer of the movie called life, with evolution as a director, with the help of philosophers and scientists, which happen to be movie's critics.

Viewing from the vantage point of director, while being guided by philosophical and scientific enquiry of its critics, has enabled me to understand and explain the most complex natural phenomenon known to mankind in its most simplified form, as contributed by the model I have developed. Dichotomized Operating System is the first causal model of mind that can be used to analyze, explain and understand all its functions. It is based on theory of evolution and its predictions match real life experiences as well as scientific experiments done to understand the phenomena of mind and brain.

Other than biggest mysteries like consciousness, free will, selfhood, subjective experiences, etc., the model has enabled me to understand day-to-day phenomena that we usually take for granted, like emotions, knowledge, music, humour, love, sex, art, happiness, desire, egotism, sleep, dreams, etc., by understanding their underlying mechanisms and processes.

Additional to using a common sense approach, I have introduced the model using step-by-step explanations in simple English to make sure it is not out-of-reach of any inquisitive person, as long as he or she makes the effort to understand it. No prior knowledge of any particular subject is required to understand it.
